Amsterdam

Last week my boyfriend asked me if I would like to spend a weekend in Amsterdam and of course I said YES! So he booked the flights (business - very kind of him :) ) and we went last weekend. It is such a lovely city!
I think I could live there. If you like special, cute little shops, I recommend going to the so called "Nine little Streets". The shops are very interesting and the visual merchandising of most of them is fantastic!
I was so overwhelmed that I somehow forgot to buy anything (okay... I bought a leather jacket, shoes and a cashmere pullover...).

Things I fell in love with in January (so far)

The city I live in is not really known for being a fashion eldorado (what a pitty - I don't like online shopping that much either). But at least a COS store opened recently. And... I have a reason to travel a bit more often.

 

The black and green glitter (I don't really know what it is - it seems to be sprayed on the fabric) sweaters are from ZARA and currently on sale. Even with the shiny material, they are so easy to wear everyday!

Parisian Chic

If you want to read a great book about timeless chic, I really recommend this one. I finished it within a day. It tells you about the "real" pieces you should have in your wardrobe (I absolutely agree), how to organize your apartment and has got a wonderful overview of parisian stores!

OOTD: Winter is back

After I was so happy that the winter might already be over, it got really cold again. I'm not the biggest fan of synthetic material, so I always try to find clothes that are made of cotton, wool, cashmere, silk etc..

A little late... Christmas Presents

I guess it's really late... But better late than never. The presents I got from my boyfriend were all packed in a Selfridges box (and separately wrapped). So I was really excited - I bet you can’t really find anything at Selfridges I would not want to have!

First I unwrapped a white diary from Moleskine. It got a tradition that I get one for Christmas (and this one is a special edition for Selfridges). The blue little booklet is a calendar (also Moleskine). But as I have got a big one from Ted Baker as well, I will use it as a little notebook when my other one will be filled with lots of ideas.

Then there was another little box wrapped with very cute glitter paper. And it turned out that a white iphone 4 s was in it. I have to say... I think I might be the only person in this world being shocked to get an iphone. I'm absolutely not interested in electronics (I don't even watch TV. The only thing I would need to stay alive is a hair dryer, my laptop and a fridge) and I love presents that will have a personal value to me in 10 years - two years ago I got a Mont Blanc pen, which is the best present I ever got in my whole life! 

I had a blackberry before which I thought was the best phone I ever owned (b. i. - before iphone)... Somehow I'm still struggling with it, as it does not always do what I want (I just guess my fingers are way to fat for the tiny symbols on the touch screen) and I just did not want to get into that iphone flow (if you have one, you will have to get a new one when the next comes out). "If you don't have the iphone... You don't have the app store..." (apple advert). Well. If you don't want an iphone, then you don't want an iphone.

But when I saw the very proud and happy face of my boyfriend whilst opening the present (still hoping a handbag would jump out – maybe a folded one) I just thought the biggest gift on Christmas was not the iphone. But the best boyfriend in this world :)

Aesop - Great beauty products

My boyfriend travels quite a lot and often comes home with some nice surprises :) A while ago he brought me an Aesop Jet Set Kit. As I usually buy normal things from Douglas or other drugstores, I did not know this brand. I got a shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and a body lotion. I have to say, it all smells very natural (and first I was not sure what to think about it, as I'm used to perfumed products), but not in a bad way - the body lotion smells like oranges and gives you very soft skin! I really like it and think I will save it for my journeys and holidays as all little bottles have a handy size.

The other day my boyfriend and I went to the cinema. Due to the strange weather (one minute it is “warm” and the next is freezing cold), I decided to wear some winter and some spring items.
